Las Vegas Comedy Schools Tips and Pointers #1

June 12, 20261 min read

Yo, it's the Las Vegas International Comedy Schools next stand-up comic tip of the day. Here we go!

When on Stage, most spotlights are stationary, they won't follow you, so you need to follow the light. If the light is blinding you and you can't see past the first row, you are standing in the right spot.

If you step to the left or right to far and can see past the first row or the entire audience, you are out of the light and in the shadows. The people in the first row can see you, but to everyone else, seeing your facial expressions, gestures or stage animation, will be difficult.

If there is a marker or X on stage, stay within 1 foot, left or right of the marker to be safe. If no stage marker is seen, you should always stay as close to the center as possible. 1 foot to the left or right of center stage, should be fine.
