Welcome to The Las Vegas International School of Stand-Up Comedy. Our objective as a professional Stand-up comedy school, is to prepare our graduates for a universal Style of stand-up comedy.
Yes, we realize, other schools primarily teach you a local style of stand-up comedy, which is good if you plan on never leaving your local area. For the most part, this style doesn’t work in the UK, USA, Canada etc. Our curriculum is designed for the “ wanting to go global’ comedians and not just your local pub or tavern. We’ve created a formula that with a slight tweak, your material will work in Australia or the UK or The USA or Canada or…. Where ever.
No, this isn’t a “we do all the work for you course” and as a Professional School, we don't offer FREE Courses. We will, however, show you the necessary steps to becoming the master creator , universal performer and Fringe and Comedy festival show promoter.
The school’s founder, Donte D'one, STARTED DOING STAND UP COMEDY AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 14 ½ IN his hometown of Las Vegas and has over 50 years of stand up comedy experience.
His early mentors were Jimmy "JJ" Walker (TV Show Goodtimes), Robin Harris (House party movies), Sandy Hackett (Hotdog and Hamburger The Movies), Bob Denver (Gilligan From Gilligan's Island-" he was my next door neighbour" and May May Ali, (Mohammad Ali's daughter) to name a few.
He has performed at The 1st Las Vegas Improv comedy club, (see photo- check out that afro :-) also The Sahara Hotel and The Hilton formerly known as The International Hotel). He has also performed in Los Angeles,(Comedy Store, The Improv, Comedy Act Theatre and in the Long Beach Comedy Festival) San Francisco (Cobbs Comedy Club) in the USA plus Comedy and Fringe Festivals in Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane.
From 2008-2020 he owned and operated one of Sydney’s longest running Stand-up comedy clubs, where funny comics such as Aaron Chen, Tom Cashman, Ray Bradran, Jenni Tian, Kyle Legacy, Matthew Wakefield, Joe Camino, Andrew Hamilton and Rhys Nicolson got there early starts in the biz.
He opened his first comedy club in 2008 and first comedy school in 2010; since then, he’s trained over 1600 people in the art of stand-up comedy, in all states in Australia (excluding NT) some of his past students like Katie Burch, Jamal Abdul, Billy Darcy, Waka, Joe White, Michelle Betts, Kabba and Frida Deguise plus others who have gone on to start their own schools, His graduates are the most respected in the industry. Several have performed on AGT (Australia's got talet), 3 of his graduates ( Katie Burch, Billy Darcy and Ivy Latimore) reach the top 5 in TV’s Raw Comedy Finals. Others have performed on LOL on Prime, TV Commercials, SBS and every single Comedy and Fringe Festival across the country. (Continues below images)

Our school was designed for those that are serious about learning the Universal Art of stand-up comedy. Whether you’re looking to make a career change or looking to do stand up as a serious Hobbie, we would love to have you in our next class Or if you’re only looking to dip your toe in or learn the very basics, we suggest purchasing our "Intro To Stand-Up Comedy" online course or our Stand up comedy Hand book (15 things to do or consider before getting started) This will save you hundreds of dollars if you decide afterwards, comedy isn't for you or try signing up to one of the other schools on line, such as Sydney Comedy School or School of Hard Knock Knocks in Vic, we recommend these schools because the founders are both former graduates (From our previous National School the Australian Comedy school), which was also taught by the founder of Las Vegas International School of stand-up Comedy.
